A Night That's Been Running for Nine Years
Some fundraising events come and go. The Keep the Flame Alive Quiz Night is not one of them.
Now in its ninth year, the event is hosted by two organisations doing genuinely important work for children and families affected by cancer: the Child Cancer Research Foundation (CCRF) and the Back on Track Foundation. What started as a grassroots community night has grown into one of Perth's most well-known annual charity events. It sells out every year, draws around 400 guests, and has raised more than $200,000 for childhood cancer research and support since 2017.
When Kristy reached out to ask if Blop would consider donating a product for the 2026 event, we didn't need long to think about it.
About the Two Organisations Behind the Night
The Child Cancer Research Foundation has been funding childhood cancer research for more than 45 years. Each year, around 1,270 Australian children and teenagers are diagnosed with cancer, and more than 140 young lives are lost. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death in children. CCRF funds research focused on improving survival rates, treatments, and long-term outcomes, while also supporting families navigating life after treatment ends.
The Back on Track Foundation focuses on what happens after hospital. It helps children return to school and learning after cancer treatment, while also supporting their siblings and families through what can be a difficult transition. As of this year, 55 children were already on the waiting list for support through the Foundation. That number puts the need in clear perspective.
The 2026 quiz night was held on Saturday 8 August at Ascot Racecourse, with all funds raised on the night going directly to these two organisations.
What Blop Did
We donated a supply of Blop to go into the event's silent auction and raffle. 192 businesses and organisations contributed to the 2026 event, and we were glad to be one of them.
It's a small contribution in the context of a night that raises tens of thousands of dollars for children with cancer. But we believe that small contributions from a lot of people, businesses included, are how events like this continue to grow and reach more families who need support.
Why This One Mattered to Us
Blop is an Australian brand built around a simple product that makes one part of everyday life a little easier. The families supported by CCRF and Back on Track are dealing with something incomparably harder.
We're not a big company with a corporate foundation and a giving strategy. We're a small team, still building something from the ground up. But being small doesn't mean sitting this kind of thing out.
The Keep the Flame Alive Quiz Night has been going for nine years because the Perth community keeps showing up for it. We wanted to show up too.
Common Questions About Blop's Charitable Support
Does Blop accept charity donation requests?
Yes. We review requests on a case-by-case basis and support causes that align with our values as an Australian brand. We can't say yes to everything, but every request gets genuine consideration. Get in touch at crap@blop.today or through our website at blop.today.
What kinds of causes has Blop supported?
We've donated products to support animal welfare organisations, children's health and cancer research charities, and community fundraising groups. The Keep the Flame Alive Quiz Night and Ava's Leaves of Love are two examples from this year alone.
Will Blop continue supporting charities in the future?
Yes. As Blop grows, we want our contribution to the community to grow with it. If you're organising a fundraiser or know of a cause that could use our support, we'd love to hear from you.
Is Blop an Australian brand?
Yes. Blop is proudly Australian, designed, sold, and shipped from Australia. Supporting Australian communities and Australian causes is something we genuinely care about.
