We're a Small Brand. That's Not an Excuse to Do Nothing.
Blop is still a young Australian brand. We don't have a dedicated charity team or a corporate giving budget. What we do have is a product we're proud of, a genuine connection to the people who use it, and a belief that even small businesses have a role to play in the communities around them.
Since launching, we've quietly supported a handful of causes that landed in our inbox and felt worth getting behind — animal welfare organisations, children's health charities, and community fundraising groups doing good work with limited resources. We don't talk about it much. But when Britney and Josh from Ava's Leaves of Love reached out to us in August, we felt it was a story worth sharing.
About Ava's Leaves of Love
Britney and Josh lost their 3.5-year-old daughter Ava in a tragic car accident. In the wake of that loss, rather than turning inward, they did something remarkable: they created Ava's Leaves of Love — a community fundraising organisation built to turn their heartbreak into hope for others.
One hundred per cent of the net proceeds from their fundraising activities go directly to the Red Tree Foundation, a South Australian organisation that provides specialised mental health support, counselling, practical assistance, and human connection to families who have experienced the devastating loss of a child. The Foundation's work is built on a simple but powerful belief: that no parent should have to face that kind of grief alone.
Since launching in February, Ava's Leaves of Love has already raised over $2,700 for the Foundation — through community raffles, silent auctions, lucky dips, seasonal campaigns, and their annual event, Ava's Round, held in partnership with the Yorke Peninsula Soccer Association.
When they reached out to ask if Blop would consider donating a product to support their fundraising, the answer was easy.
What We Did
We sent Britney and Josh a supply of Blop to contribute to their upcoming fundraising activities. It's a small gesture in the context of what they're doing, but we hope it plays a part in keeping the momentum going.
We want to acknowledge the courage it takes to channel grief into something that helps others. What Britney, Josh, and their community have built in Ava's name is genuinely moving, and we're glad to be even a small part of it.
If you'd like to learn more about Ava's Leaves of Love or or find out how you can support their fundraising efforts, you can reach them through their social media channels.
Why We Do This
There's no grand strategy behind Blop's charitable giving. We're not doing it for the press coverage or the marketing angle.
We do it because we're Australian, our customers are Australian, and the communities those customers live in are worth investing in. Taking a little of what we have and putting it toward something meaningful feels like the right thing to do — regardless of how big or small we are.
We've supported animal rescue organisations, children's health causes, and community fundraising groups. Every time we say yes to one of these requests, it's because the people behind it are doing real work with real heart, and a few Blops might help them do a little more of it.
Common Questions About Blop's Charitable Support
Does Blop accept charity donation requests?
Yes. We review requests on a case-by-case basis and support causes that align with our values as an Australian brand. We're a small business, so we can't say yes to everything, but we genuinely consider each request we receive.
What kinds of causes has Blop supported?
Over the past year, Blop has donated products to support animal welfare organisations, children's health and wellbeing charities, and community fundraising groups like Ava's Leaves of Love. We tend to focus on grassroots Australian causes where a product donation can make a meaningful contribution.
How do I apply for a charitable donation from Blop?
Get in touch with us through our website at blop.today or via email at crap@blop.today. Tell us a little about your organisation, what you're fundraising for, and how a Blop donation might support your activities. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.
Will Blop continue supporting charities in the future?
Yes. As Blop grows, we want our contribution to the community to grow with it. Right now that looks like product donations. Over time, we'd love to do more. If you're running a fundraiser or know of a cause that could use our support, reach out.
Is Blop an Australian brand?
Yes. Blop is proudly Australian — designed, sold, and shipped from Australia. Supporting Australian communities isn't an add-on for us. It's part of what we're building.
